Holloway Diamonds focus on the way diamonds look, and that is mainly about the way it is cut and polished. I am well known world over for a crusade to improve the cut quality and beauty of diamonds, working with the world's leading researcher scientists in the field. I have asked this question in presentations that have included the lab directors of the world’s major labs:
“Would you buy a loved one a diamond based only on its grading certificate?”
Guess what – not one of them would. Not even a top colour (D) flawless diamond, because a lab report does not tell them if it is a nice sparkly diamond!
When I opened Holloway Diamonds (first called Precious Metals) in 1976 as a geologist with no diamond and jewellery experience I could not understand why badly cut lifeless diamonds often cost more than sparkling beauties! I discovered grading Cut is very hard, it is the Cinderella of the 4 C's and so most diamonds are ‘Cut for Carats' not for beauty.
We hope you will come in, see our diamonds and buy. If not then please let me help you avoid some pitfalls, and buy a beautiful diamond.
